INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM…

Our  "two  phase" intensive outpatient substance abuse program  is  based on  DiClemente  and Prochaska’s  “Stages of  Change”,  a transtheoretical  model developed to lead clients through the stages of  behavioral  change  necessary  to overcome alcohol and drug abuse/dependency.  Clients will begin in phase I of  our  program, which  prepares the addicted person  to quit using alcohol/drugs and prepares them for phase II,  the action  phase, where they will implement what they learned in phase I.  Phase II will concentrate on  building a foundation for recovery, building an outside support system, stress management and relapse prevention.  We welcome the involvement of   family members.  After a client completes both phases of our intensive outpatient program, an aftercare plan will  be created  to  help assure continued abstinence. And as with all of our groups, clients who successfully complete treatment are invited to continue attending their group, space permitting, for aftercare.

Chronic pain group assists clients in managing chronic pain and pain medication while minimizing the risk of developing an addiction that leads to drug seeking behaviors.

Therapy groups  assist our clients to examine their substance use and to develop an individual program of recovery.

Anger management groups  assists clients to develop skills needed to resolve conflict.

Psychoeducational groups  provide our clients with information to help them determine the nature and extent of  their  substance use.

Family counseling  helps concerned  family members  understand  the process of  chemical dependency  as  well  as  the process of  recovery.

Invidual counseling helps our clients to cope with issues such as depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder.  Individual sessions are also provided for substance abuse counsleing as an ajubct to group therapy.

Hypnotherapy  for smoking cessation, stress management, anxiety reduction, relpase prevention and other issues.

Alcohol education Sate certified program for first time DUI/DWI offenders

What is Acudetox?

  • Acudetox is a specific type of acupuncture treatment. It involves the gentle placement of five small, thin, sterilized, disposable stainless steel needles, called pins, in specific sites on each ear of the person undergoing treatment.
  • Acudetox is a non-verbal process that does not require extended interviews or the disclosure of personal information. Treatment benefits begin on the first day that you receive the pins.

Benefits

  • Acudetox has been shown to significantly decrease: cravings for alcohol and drugs, withdrawal symptoms, relapse, inpatient detox admissions, anxiety, insomnia and agitation.
  • Acupuncture treatments become more effective as time passes. Tolerance does not happen with Acudetox.
  • Acudetox treatment helps you become relaxed and more comfortable with your own thoughts, letting go of tensions and apprehensions, and the experience teaches you personal skills which help you in counseling, groups, and other challenges. This treatment supports quiet participation in a group with others who are involved in recovery. You will learn to develop your own space or comfort zone.
  • The treatment is simple and effective. You don't have to like it or believe that it works for it to be effective. The pins do their job. Acudetox enhances other program components. The more frequent the sessions, the more benefit you will notice.
  • Patients in other treatment programs must follow a behavioral contract to receive incentives or rewards. Acudetox treatment service is immediate, tangible, and visible the first time. Acudetox offers each person an experience of relief right away. Most people report being more centered or focused.

Are there any side effects?

  • Acudetox treatments are simple and safe. Side effects are rare and may include slight soreness at the sight of insertion, minor bruising, headache which is usually relieved by adjusting the pins, slight nausea or dizziness, and an occasional minor drop of blood.
